Welcome to the photographic precis of our saunters around local Nature Reserves and other places of interest
It is difficult to tire of these Nature Reserves, the delight of seeing old friends like Cowslips bursting into bloom or the first Damselflies of the year emerging. Occasionally we spot something new to us, whether rare or common place it is great to research the species and learn something about them.
I started out just enjoying the visual feast of Dragonflies and Damselflies in the summer but now find myself drawn towards the world of Shieldbugs, Beetles, Butterflies and Hoverflies. Insects I never gave a passing glance to in the past can lead intriguing lives I now find fascinating
In short, Nature Reserves are fabulous, get out there and enjoy!

The Winter Aconites in the garden seem to get eaten, perhaps by slugs, those in pots however do somewhat better and revel in sunshine!
With the cold and wet weather gradually easing off we took advantage of a sunnier day to take a stroll around Summer Leys Nature Reserve
The milder weather had brought out some optimistic Ladybirds
